With the Bushido size up from your usual, because of the performance fit. Duplicate UK sizes refer to EU half sizes.
On first picking up the Bushido it feels rigid and substantial, but not heavy. This shoe is build to last and built to handle rugged terrain, it excels particularly on rock. The sole is formed of sticky rubber with Sportiva's impact braking system allowing what for me is the best grip and stability on rock from any shoe I've ever worked with. With other shoes designed for rugged or rough terrain, studs or accentuated grip often create less contact surface area meaning they compromise too heavily on rock grip for better handling on grass and mud. The Bushido gives you enough confidence to attack mud and grass hard but comes in to it's own on rougher stuff. This is my go-to shoe for rocky ground like the Lake District, Snowdonia and Alpine mixed running, running using a microspike or mini-crampon, and any type of long trail race where I need more protection. This shoe has taken me everywhere from the Lakeland 100, to UTMB, to the slopes of Mt. Elbrus and mixed trail/ road ultra's. James Elson.
