The Kaptiva is the trail running shoe dedicated to medium and long distance ultra and mountain run-in. Unleash your desire for freedom thanks to the innovative knit fabric, SLIP-ON construction which reduces to a minimum, the volume of each individual piece of the shoe, optimising the overall dimensions and the layers of material for wraparound, super clean structure that is dedicated to the runner’s performance.
The fit is snug and comfortable, free of empty, destabilising space. The stretch, mono-layer cuff sticks to the heel like a sock avoiding overlapping layers and preventing external debris from entering the shoe, facilitating at the same time the entry of the foot and the operation of fit. The sole/midsole aims at providing the perfect balance between fluidity, stability, flexibility and traction thanks to the longitudinal cuts in the tread of the super grippy and extremely durable FriXion White compound with Impact Brake System lugs of different angle inclinations.
CENTURION REVIEW: We've been looking forward to this shoe for a long time, sitting as it does as a lighter weight grippier model from the brand. The fit is quite snug around the mid foot in a good way, the sock like structure inside the main upper holds the foot well. The studs are aggressive enough to make for traction on any wet/ mud/ trail when twisting and turning or moving directly forward, but are not too aggressive to work on road or groomed trail. It’s a tremendous all rounder but with more grip than most of the La Sportiva models, lightweight without compromising protection. For fans of La Sportiva, this shoe sits around the same level of grip (albeit with a different stud design) to the Mutant, whilst retaining a lighter weight feel of all models bar the Helios/ SR and VK.
