The mitts benefit from a waterproof inner, as well as a Durable Water Repellent PFC Free coating - so you'll stay dry in the heaviest of downpours. Silicone grip on the palms make handling poles and other accessories more secure. You can also operate your mobile phone without removing the mitts.
